Toward Liberation from Human Tyranny

The veneration of entities other than God, whether through prostration, prayer, or oath-taking, creates a societal predisposition to accept authoritarianism and exploitation. In contrast, a society that invokes only Allah and centres its affairs on divine sovereignty is unlikely to tolerate dogmatism, totalitarianism, or despotic rule. Within a monotheistic framework, individuals are cultivated to be autonomous, liberated, and resistant to oppression, thereby diminishing opportunities for exploitation. As awareness grows, an increasing number of individuals will recognise that a “theocentric” approach is the sole means of extricating society from the influence of anthropocentric ideologies. When God is acknowledged as the sole arbiter of sustenance, life, and intellect, the grounds for multifaceted exploitation are effectively eliminated.

With the institutionalization of the belief that the Creator of all human beings is one, that all individuals are equal in their creation, and that the determination of each person’s ultimate fate lies with the individual and the Creator alone, no human being can legitimately claim the authority to dictate how others should think or live. This world functions as a domain of moral testing in accordance with divine command and serves as a temporary stage for determining the nature of life in the hereafter. Accordingly, every individual possesses the right to live according to personal choice, provided that such freedom is exercised with respect for the rights of others. This principle may be compared to an examination system in which each student is free to determine the level and type of effort required to succeed based on personal ability; one may even choose not to exert effort, but must bear responsibility for the outcome. Naturally, a rational individual will strive to succeed.

God created the world as a shared provision from which all people may benefit freely in proportion to their efforts, and natural resources therefore belong collectively to all of His servants. No individual has the right to claim absolute sovereignty over national natural resources or social life. Government officials, regardless of rank, are equal in social rights and bear the responsibility of safeguarding the lives, property, and dignity of individuals and society as a whole. The One who endowed human beings with life also endowed them with freedom; thus, no person is inherently the slave of another.
